The Priest is not a class everyone will enjoy, however it is a good choice if you want to be an in demand party member. The Priest is highly favored for their healing abilities. At the same time though, the Priest can deal some serious damage with Shadow attacks.

If you want to learn how to level a Priest however, you first need to understand that it will be quite challenging in the beginning. Not many can stick it out to the end where they really take off. Things get better around level 20 and really take off around level 40 if you can hold out that long.

Now if you want to deal a lot of damage that’s something within the Priest’s domain with the shadow tree, there are many spells in there which can deal considerable damage. A good thing about the Shadow Priest is they still remain useful to groups due to their ability to de-buff and buff.

As far as late game, which is level 60-80, you will want to go with Power Word: Shield, Vampiric Touch, Mind Blast, Vampiric Embrace, Shadow Word: Pain, Devouring Plague then Mind Flay.
