Samsung ML 1630 - A Smart Business Arrangement
Looks- If you are looking for both style and function the Samsung ML 1630 printer is the ideal investment. The printer wires, screws and general mechanics are contained in highly fashionable, black, double storey slabs instead of your normal boxy, white housing. It’s dimensions are all under 15 inches. Control Panel- If you are a little technologically challenged, you are in luck as the designers at Samsung have come up with a wonderful easy control panel with only two buttons and a LED screen for showing print status, options and other information in pictures and words.
Print Quality- Text and graphics print quality is well above average at 600×1200dpi with Samsung toner considering it’s price range and the fact that it’s a mere monochrome printer. Text is immaculate, crisp, clear outlines with very little to no blemishing or blurring, even with the smallest of font size, gray scale and web printing. Graphics printing is very good with little dithering and banding. However if you prefer super high quality graphics or colour printing rather opt for another model Samsung in a little higher price range or else you are going to be very disappointed.
Media Types and Sizes- A very big disadvantage to the printer is it’s limited paper capacity of 100 sheets in and 30 sheets out. However the printer’s overall duty cycle is an astonishing 5000 pages. All standard paper sizes are compatible with the printer incl. Letter and Exec. Media types however are a little more limited, with envelope and card printing no supported. Your first page will be produced in a couple of seconds from power to print so there is no more waiting for printer warm-up before printing starts. The printers’ engine speed is slow at when compared to other printers in same price range.
Port options- Modern port options are included with the printer in the form of an USB port, so there is no need for additional port investment or old-fashioned connections. Note that no connection cables are included with the printer.
Memory info- 8 Mb’s memory is included with your printer investment. Unfortunately you are not able to add more memory modules for networking or large print environment purposes.
Operators supported- The printer is compatible with all your well known operators such as Windows, Linux and Apple Macintosh.
Guarantee- A twelve month guarantee comes standard with your printer investment. However you should keep in mind that the guarantee is very restricted in terms of parts and labour. Repairs and service should only be conducted by approved Samsung dealers as it can impact your guarantee with the possibility of rendering it void.
